One thing about my current theme that was really annoying me was that my trackback URLs were pushing into the sidebar. Roller trackbacks are faily long, and there's no way I was going to go mucking about with the code making them shorter.
So then I remembered that the fancy new Google Analytics system does something nice with URLs that are too long. If you set overflow:hidden
on the div
, then the URL is cropped if it gets too long, but you can still select the entire thing – the div scrolls when you select text, and double clicking works too.
At first I started editing the roller template, but that is the wrong way. Just edit the div.trackbackUrl
style in your stylesheet instead.
